THE PROBLEM

Landfill was an easy option for the hotel's waste policy while it was cheap. However, the ever increasing amount of cardboard and plastic brought with it problems of storage and disposal, and the increase in fees meant that we had to find a new answer to our problem, urgently.

THE SOLUTION

An EU Rentals WR350 baler was installed in a very small space on the loading bay. As the cardboard accumulates, it is baled, and the bales are then collected weekly. Plastic is stored until we have enough to make a bale, and this is also collected weekly.

THE SAVINGS

Bailing our cardboard and plastic has a direct impact on the reduction in waste going to landfill. On average, we produce a tonne of baled materials per month, and this has a significant effect on our waste bill every month.
